Hello, lovelies! I have been quite busy lately with life, but I felt I needed to update the blog with a post detailing my recent trip to Philadelphia, PA. This trip actually occurred back in May, but I'm finally getting around to making a post about it! I was a plus-one to the wedding for some of my boyfriend's friends and I also had the opportunity to roam all around the city to take in the sights. It was my first time visiting Philadelphia and I was not disappointed. Let's get into it!

Travel Day
Our flight was a morning flight, so my boyfriend and I had to be at the airport super early (which is why it's pitch black outside the windows behind me). I decided to go for comfort when planning my travel outfit. I decided to opt for this set from Amazon which is super cute & cozy. Also, if you're looking for a great luggage set, this one was super functional, carried a lot, and looked really cute doing it!
In spite of some brief turbulence, the flight went smoothly overall. I love getting a window seat when I can because the views from the sky are often so beautiful. It reminds me that there's such a big world or there to see.
For the flight, my main essentials included a mini jet lag mask from Summer Fridays (this was super helpful in keeping my skin feeling smooth and hydrated on the flight), Swan Song by Elin Hilderband to keep busy, and a hand cream similar to this one.
The Art
One of my favorite places that I got to visit was the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The architecture alone was stunning. I was also unaware that there was a bronze cast of one of my favorite sculptures (Little Dancer, Aged Fourteen by Edgar Degas) that was featured in this museum, so it was a lovely surprise when I found it!
The City
I've always loved the look of a city skyline, so I was super excited to get a few photos of the one in Philly. Luckily, one of my boyfriend's friends happened to know a sort-of secret spot that had an amazing view. We had to sneak into the area inconspicuously, but it was so worth it! It was a foggy morning, but amazing nonetheless.
Recommendations
There were so many interesting and fun locations that I had the pleasure of visiting during this trip, but one of the biggest highlights was the Chinatown neighborhood. The architecture was so unique and beautiful, and there were tons of cool shops and stands to stop at.
This bubble tea shop that we found was so cute! It was also in Chinatown and the drink that I tried was delicious. If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend giving them a try! The shop is called Hey I Am Yogost (super cute, right?)!
There were tons of cute kawaii shops all around Chinatown. Everything was adorable and on trend. It was cool to see such a different kind of style than what I would normally see being sold in my area. I loved all the Hello Kitty finds, too!
Some additional locations and shops I would recommend visiting are:
A must-see if you are an art lover. There are so many beautiful and different styles of art that are featured along with the gorgeous architecture.
Toile Custom Atelier:
I actually followed this brand on
Instagram prior to visiting Philadelphia. However, I had no idea that they were located there until I was browsing my feed and saw their location by chance. Toile offers so many unique finds and I was able to get a gift for a friend there.
This is such a cool market with tons of food, produce, and specialty item options. It was so cool to see so many sorts of products available all together. Definitely a good place to stop by if you're in the area.
This was one of my favorite shops within Reading Terminal. They offer lots of cool tonics, oils, herbs, relevant books, and other spiritual items and accessories. They also have their own, additional website
here though I'm not sure if they are selling from there yet. However, you can order from their page on the Reading Terminal website if you are interested!
This place was so cool. It is a free-standing art instillation that is as about immersive as it can get. You venture through various rooms and hallways that are all themed differently. The overarching theme is that the visitor is exploring an alien-like realm where everything is new and slightly odd. There seems to be a lot of lore woven throughout the experience, some of it including what seemed like an alien dictator. It is honestly really difficult to explain but was an experience that was wholly unique and fascinating for me.
I loved this cute 50's-style diner! The decor was super cute and gave off that commercial 50's vibe. It was cool to see something so different compared to other restaurants in the area. My boyfriend and I shared a milkshake that was super delicious, too!
Final Thoughts
Overall, my trip to Philadelphia was so much fun! I was lucky enough to be traveling with someone who knew the area and who also had friends living nearby, so I feel like I got both a "touristy" experience as well as a more authentic one. It was honestly such a fun trip. I would love to go back one day!
What travels have you experienced recently? Have you ever been to Philadelphia? Let me know in the comments! Until next time, lovelies!
