Art & The Power Of Flowers

Hello, lovelies! I can't believe I have been absent from blogging for almost a month! Life has been getting busier and busier, especially as summer comes to a close. Although, I have to say, I am definitely craving a chilly autumn evening all cozied up with a good book, some candles, and my pet cat, Percy. I've always loved the autumn season the most, so I'm super ready for its arrival.

In the meantime, I was able to visit a local art museum that was featuring an installation from Rebecca Louise Law, and oh my goodness, it was stunning!

The exhibit focused on themes of life cycles, presence of mind, death, and rebirth through the use of hand-strung fresh flowers suspended from the ceiling. As time moves forward and the flowers begin to wilt, the colors will slowly fade and change in time with the changing of the seasons. It was truly a beautiful experience of art to behold.

There was also the coolest exhibit that featured sustainably repurposed living moss as an art piece. It was also a tangible installation, so patrons were encouraged to touch the moss and experience the full sensation of the textures. The moss was so soft and felt so alive, even though it was away from the its original environment!

The museum that I visited also features botanical gardens that are situated alongside the water. It is truly one of the places where I feel the most peaceful. The art exhibits are stunning enough, but the gardens are definitely an added bonus.

These flowers are all throughout the gardens and they are so gorgeous! Even though I love autumn, there is still something special about seeing the blooming florals of spring and summer. If the earth does ever laugh, it's definitely manifested through flowers.

So what have all of you been up to? Are you ready for the autumn weather? Or, if you live in the southern hemisphere, are you ready for spring? Let me know in the comments!
